Jim is a fierce advocate for educational equity and excellence, having served in multiple roles in strategy, innovation and philanthropy.
As President and Executive Director, Jim works alongside the DC Public Education Fund team, community stakeholders and funders to identify and connect philanthropic resources for DCPS’s boldest innovations. Prior to joining the Ed Fund, he served as Senior Director of Program Strategy at CityBridge Education where he coordinated the program strategy for their DC education incubator. Jim also served as an Investment Manager at the Philadelphia School Partnership, managing a portfolio of over 15 public school innovation grants. Jim has served as a coach and consultant for a variety of organizations, including 4.0 Schools, Teach For America, TNTP, SchoolKit and CatalystEd. He is a former high school social studies teacher and assistant principal in New Orleans. Jim received his BA in Political Science from Rutgers University and an MEd in Educational Leadership from Teachers College – Columbia University. Jim lives in Ward 5 in Washington, DC with his husband and little puppy, Boston.
