Although Standing Ovation is designed to honor all DCPS educators, we take time each year to present awards and cash prizes to the top performers across five categories: Teachers, School Staff, School Leaders, Schools, and Central Office Employees.
Making a Nomination
For more than 15 years, Standing Ovation has recognized and celebrated the exceptional contributions of DC Public Schools (DCPS) educators, leaders, and school communities. While the program honors the collective impact of all DCPS staff, it places a special spotlight each year on outstanding individuals and teams through awards and cash prizes across five categories: Teachers, School Staff, School Leaders, Schools, and Central Office Employees.
About the Process
Standing Ovation reflects the voices of the entire DCPS community. Nominations can be submitted by anyone, including community partners, students, families, and colleagues to highlight individuals and schools who go above and beyond in service of DCPS and its students.
